AC Milan playmaker Ronaldinho could return to his native
country, according to emerging reports from the Brazilian media.
GloboEsporte.com claims that the Brazilian star has been in
contact with Flamengo and that a verbal agreement has been reached
between the player and the club. It's also been reported that only Milan
need to sanction this move.
The 30-year-old was signed by the
Italian giants from reigning Spanish champions Barcelona in the summer
of 2008 on a three-year contract. After struggling initially in the
Italian top flight, Ronaldinho rediscovered himself to a great extent
under Leonardo in 2009-10 and helped the Rossoneri finish in the top
four in Serie A.
However, Ronnie missed out a place in the
Brazil World Cup squad and it now seems that the former PSG star will go
back to his homeland. Flamengo president Patricia Amorim reportedly met
Ronaldinho recently and a deal could be struck in the coming days.
Ronaldinho is currently in Rio de Janeiro on summer holiday.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is adamant Ronaldinho is staying.
Despite Brazilian sources declaring an agreement between Ronie and Flamengo over personal terms, Galliani has moved to pull the brake on the proposal.
He also rubbished claims of a break clause in Ronie's contract for January.
Galliani declared: "There are no loopholes whatsoever. Ronaldinho is fine. He's never expressed the idea of going away. Indeed, there is an agreement in principle to consider his contract in the autumn."
