Spanish World Cup winner David Silva arrived for his medical this morning ahead of completing his £24million switch to Manchester City.
The midfielder has agreed a £160,000-a-week deal at Eastlands and will officially be unveiled once he has the green light from City's medical team.
On his way: David Silva gives his thumbs up on his arrival for the medical
Silva will sign a four-year deal to join fellow new boys Yaya Toure and Jerome Boateng - brought in from Barcelona and Hamburg respectively - at City.
On agreeing the move last month, he said: 'I have enjoyed six years at Valencia, they discovered me as a footballer and they will always be a special club for me.
'The time is right for me to seek a new challenge, and I am thrilled about playing in England with Manchester City.
Raring to go: Silva will cost City £24m
'I believe the Premier League is one of the best competitions in the world and I want to bring success to City and win trophies for them.
'I want to say that I always hoped to come to Manchester City and I am excited about my future there.
'They are a club with a great future with fantastic players. I want to be an important player in Manchester City's history.
Winner: David Silva was part of the Spain squad who lifted the World Cup
'There has been a lot of speculation about me in the British and Spanish media, and I need to fully concentrate on playing for Spain in the World Cup.
'That is why my advisers have been dealing with City for me so that I can have my attentions only on South Africa and playing well for my national team.'
Since Man City so rich, why not just buy the whole Spanish team?
Why waste time?

Silva service: David Silva completes his move to Manchester City
David Silva is keen to lead Manchester City into the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history after finalising his £24million move from Valencia yesterday.
Silva completed his medical at Eastlands after his bit part in Spain’s maiden World Cup success in South Africa.
‘I am looking forward to starting the season with my new team, I’m excited about it,’ Silva, 24, told City’s website.
‘And I will be happy if at the end we are in the Champions League or if we win a trophy.
‘Roberto Mancini and (chief executive) Garry Cook have told me we are building a very good team with some of the best players in the world and we are going to fight for honours.
‘My first target is to get into the team, and then to fight for the league and the other competitions.’
Silva’s five-year deal was enough to prise him away from the club he signed for as a 14-year-old.
He is City’s third summer signing following the capture of Germany defender Jerome Boateng and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure.
they lack a central playmaker i believe.. de jong and barry is just abit more defensive minded.
check out his jap-spanish look lol. $160,000 a week no wonder. Man City has no UCL next season. Zidane was only paid half that amount not too long ago? And this guy is nowhere close to zidane, gd though. man city really spoil market.
Well, the going rate now is $160k to attract players I guess, Robinho was paid that same amount about 2 seasons ago and Adebayor and Tevez as well for last... Yaya Toure too could be getting the same...
given the spending, many would reckon that mancini has only the next season to get into champions league and win something to stay in the job..
ya, as said, the football game is a very realistic one. be it as a manager or player, once you've not good, you're off.
chelsea and man city, real and barca....these are the clubs which price players out of the market.
