Bolton complete deal for Marcos Alonso from Real
Bolton Wanderers have sealed the signing of Marcos Alonso from Spanish giants Real Madrid for an undisclosed fee.
Alonso, 19, had been tracked by Bolton boss Owen Coyle throughout the summer and he has now penned a three-year deal.
The left back seemed certain to move to the Reebok after admitted over the weekend that he would have to leave the Bernabeu if he was to gain first team football. He follows in the footsteps of former Real Madrid players Ivan Campo and Fernando Hierro in playing for Bolton.
Alonso, who made his first-team debut for Real last season in a 2-0 win over Racing Santander in April, joins Martin Petrov and Robbie Blake as new signings for Coyle.
Coyle told the club's official website: "He is an exciting young player who has undoubted quality and he will bring that into our mix. I think that we have a real talent on our hands.
"I have said before that when we are investing money in transfers that I want to do it with young, talented players. He isn't the finished article yet - he's a young player making his way - but you don't get through at Real Madrid without having a bit about you."
