  Heurelho Gomes believes Tottenham are one player short from being a major contender.

  Spurs missed out on Joe Cole but are still in the hunt for Scott Parker, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards.

  And Gomes said: “I don’t know what players are coming in but I am sure the door is open for quality players.

  “For the Champions League I think we need one more quality player.

  “I know how difficult it is to play in it because I have played there before but we can have a great Champions League.”
