Aston Villa must make Stephen Ireland the club's biggest earner to seal James Milner's sale to Manchester City.
The People says Villa have finally accepted City's offer of £17 million cash and 23-year-old Ireland valued at £10 million as part of the deal.
However, Ireland is still considering the switch to the Midlands while Villa fear the player's £72,000-a-week wages could be a major stumbling block.
Ashley Young is Villa's highest earner on £65,000-a-week and many of O'Neill's established stars could seek better deals if Ireland joins.
overpaid british flops.
Actually we can't blame him cos he is on that salary in the first place.
It's like would anyone be willing to leave your current job while you have a few yrs left on your contract at this pay and asked to go to another company on a lesser salary? Of course not what, who in their right mind would?
Just like when Chelsea sent Shevchenko or Hernan Crespo out on loan to Milan, they had to pay part of their salaries as Milan couldn't pay the $130k per week salary... Otherwise they don't take... Then Chelse have to pay the whole sum all by themselves...
is Ireland any good? he is over rated like the english

agree, when City players are all played so high, so when they move, surely, they want parity.. not whether they are over-rated or etc..
