Pool's English and Home grown players
Glen Johnson, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Carragher and new addition Brad Jones.
Konchesky? Seriously? Liverpool so desperate meh?
I think the Konchesky deal is for HG member or something...Liverpool only have 4 HG seniors in the squad.
If Konchesky is really coming then why did they not sell the Argentine leftback.

Its not Pool that don't want to sell Insua..
if im not mistaken, when the deal was about to close..
Insua demand of wages is way too high that Forientina can't accept it..
Yeah, but than again I think he was only looking to maintain what he was already getting at Pool... So no reason to leave and get a lower salary while he still has a good contract at Pool that pays him higher right?
I guess eventually he will go... Its just the matter of the adjustment to his salary that's in the way... If Pool accepts a lower transfer fee, then Fiorentina could match he current pay. Then he could leave England and heads for Italy...

Konchesky isn't too bad a player... Have an aggressive style to his game and right now refuse to sign a new deal I guess hoping for Hodgson to come for him... Only thing is a little on the wrong side for his age as a attacking wing-back...
Pools seems desperate to get a few more 'home grown' players on board cos they are short in numbers... So far they have been link to... Peter Crouch, Luke Young, Carlton Cole, Scott Parker, Wayne Bridge...
Next up who knows... Lee Cattermole, Titus Bramble, Anton Ferdinand, Michael Turner, Ryan Shawcross, Gary Cahill or even Gareth Barry again...
Chelsea, United and Spurs seems to have no problem with the new rule, Arsenal not too sure. Maybe they might have a few foreigners considered as 'home grown'...
Al Fayed angered by Hodgson's approach for Konchesky
Paul Konchesky has been offered a new contract by Fulham to keep him out of the clutches of Liverpool, who are preparing a £3 million bid for the left-back.
Fulham are understood to be furious about Hodgson’s interest in Konchesky and relations between Al Fayed and the Liverpool boss have sunk to a new low.
Mark Hughes is an admirer of Konchesky and has sanctioned the club’s move to offer a new deal to the former West Ham defender, who moved to Craven Cottage for £3m in the summer of 2007.
Fulham sources say the 29-year-old, who has a year left on his current deal, has been in talks with the club for a number of weeks and are willing to make him one of the highest earners in the squad. Fulham’s best-paid player is on £40,000-a-week.
Liverpool have not yet made an official approach for Konchesky but Fulham are well aware of the Merseysiders’ interest and they will strongly resist a move before the end of the transfer window.
It is understood that when Hodgson told Al Fayed he wanted to leave Fulham last month that the pair shook hands on an agreement that he would not return to Craven Cottage to buy his former players. Liverpool have also been linked with moves for Craven Cottage pair Brede Hangeland and Danny Murphy, although they have not pursued the pair.
But Hodgson’s relationship with his former employer has deteriorated following his departure from west London.
Al Fayed made a series of unprompted attacks on Hodgson earlier this month on the day Hughes was unveiled as the new Fulham manager.
“This other guy [Hodgson] let us down and just walked away. But we have a nice guy now. He’s better looking, too,” Al Fayed said.
Only once referring to the man who took Fulham to the Europa League final by name, Al Fayed said of his former employee: “This guy, we put him where he is now and he took advantage.”
Hodgson responded by saying he was “disappointed” by the Fulham owner’s comments.

the owner is a sore loser. he should understand that hodge relishes managing a top club, as it is once in a lifetime opportunity. if you miss it, you will live to regret for the rest of your live when you look back.
He himself is an Egyptian but his wife and children's spouse are Europeans i guess...
