  Crystal Palace complete signing of Edgar Davids

  

  Former Netherlands international midfielder Edgar Davids has joined Championship side Crystal Palace on a pay-as-you-play deal.

  The 37-year-old had been without a club since leaving Ajax in 2008.

  "It is an exciting time for me. I want to enjoy football and show what I can do," Davids told the club website.

  Davids' arrives after Palace confirmed that they are out of administration - meaning that the club's transfer embargo has been lifted.

  "We spoke to Edgar earlier in the week," said Palace manager George Burley.

  "He has been training with Ajax but now it's good to see us agree terms with him."

  Davids, who has also had spells with AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Tottenham, won 74 caps for the Netherlands.

  Holland superstar Edgar Davids is likely to leave Crystal Palace after struggling to make an impression during his brief pay-as-you-play stint at Selhurst Park.

  Davids was missing again from Palace’s game at Preston, the latest setback for the 37-year-old midfielder who has graced some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

  Palace have won one of only six matches in which Davids has taken part and he had already been substituted when they scored their goals in a 2-1 win at Norwich.

  It is a disappointing climax to a glittering career for Davids, who won the Champions League with Ajax as a youngster and went on to play for Juventus, Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Tottenham. He also won 65 caps for Holland.

  
  

  Palace fans were excited when he joined them in the summer but a lack of regular training has hindered his attempts to settle.

  arabian football has come a long way since landing frank leboeuf, they're now signing belhadj, dindane, bakary kone.......MLS or A league more likely for davids...
