  The Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will be out of action for several weeks after hurting his left ankle in Saturday's Premier League match at Blackburn Rovers.

  The Dutch Football Association said the forward will miss Holland's European Championship qualifiers against San Marino and Finland because he is likely to be out of action for "at least a few weeks".

  Van Persie set up Arsenal's opening goal before being replaced in the 35th minute of the 2-1 win at Ewood Park. He missed five months of last season after injuring ankle ligaments in November while on international duty.

  Holland have recalled the Hamburg striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, 34, after a two-year absence.

  Wenger's words cannot be taken serious one lah... He is trying to keep team injury a secret for possible used of strategy in their next match. I think he wants to keep his next opponent guessing rather than know straight away Persie is definitely out for sure and plan how to approach their match without him...

  I rather go with the Dutch doctor's assessment who have nothing to hide to their benefit...

  Robin van Persie could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines

   

   

  ARSENAL striker Robin van Persie could be out for a month with yet another ankle injury.

  The Dutch star suffered the problem during Saturday's 2-1 win at Blackburn, but still reported for international duty.

  Holland's doctors yesterday told Van Persie he will be sidelined for two to four weeks.

  This means he is certain to miss Arsenal's next match against Bolton on September 11 and the Champions League opener at home to Portuguese side Braga four days later.

  Van Persie, 27, set up the opener at Blackburn before being replaced in the 35th minute.

  The Gunners hitman missed five months of last season after damaging ligaments in his right ankle in November while on international duty — although the latest problem is with his left.

  World Cup finalists Holland face Euro 2012 qualifiers against San Marino and Finland.

  Actually he is a very good player but unfortunately, never really hit the highest level. Over the years when he was coming up at Arsenal, I thought this guy will make the very top level with Ronaldo one day... But his history with injuries is just too much, and at the current age of already 27, he will never be able to surpass Dennis Bergkamp. And his top level career might be over when he reach 30 due to the many injuries over the years...

  lol i tink the dutch medical team cannot be trust compare with wenger. lol last season the dutch team say rvp small injury 1 mth but come back to arsenal and check 4 mths. i dun tink wenger is trying to keep the opponent guessing. when he say some1 wont play next game the person wont play. like fabregas and rvp againist liverpool wont be fit to start both also didnt start

  NICKLAS BENDTNER has rocked Arsenal with a fresh injury blow.

  The Denmark striker was hoping to be back later this month after being out since the World Cup with a groin injury.

  But Bendtner, 22, has suffered a setback and is not likely to be playing first-team football again until November.

  He believes his injury is linked to a car crash he had nearly a year ago.

  The news comes just 24 hours after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger discovered Robin van Persie could be out for a month with an ankle problem.

  THEO WALCOTT suffered another injury scare as he was carried off on a stretcher last night.

  But the injury-jinxed England winger, 21, could be back in a week.

  Walcott was taken to a Swiss hospital for scans on his right ankle, which he damaged in the build-up to Wayne Rooney's 10th-minute opener.

  But X-rays showed no breaks and just bad bruising.

  England boss Fabio Capello spoke to Walcott over the phone moments after the 3-1 win.

  The Italian said: "I just spoke with Theo. He tells me it's not such a big problem. I said 'Two weeks?' He told me less."

  Jermain Defoe was also carried off after England's second goal.

  The Spurs striker, who suffered an ankle injury in the second half, will have a scan today but did not seem too badly hurt.

  Capello said: "Defoe was a little thing."

  ARSENAL fear Robin van Persie will miss their first three Champions League group games.

  And the Dutch ace is also out of the October 3 trip to Chelsea after learning his ankle injury is worse than feared.

  Van Persie, 27, had hoped to be back inside a month after he was crocked at Blackburn on August 28.

  But boss Arsene Wenger has been told the striker will not return until mid-October, ruling him out of Euro games at home to Braga and Shakhtar Donetsk plus Gunners' trip to Partizan.
