Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart admits his England breakthrough came thanks to Birmingham City.
Hart’s emergence has meant that England owe a debt to an unlikely source – a Scotsman. Birmingham manager Alex McLeish took Hart on loan last season and after an indifferent start, flourished.
“I can’t stress how important that time was,” said Hart. “If I had been sitting on my bum that would have done nothing for anyone – not for Birmingham, not for City and not for me.”
Joe Hart was certainly one important reason for Birmingham's good performance last season.
Too bad they couldn't just buy him over once his loan contract was over.
im sure birmingham got the fund to buy him, but city won't want to sell such a promising lad.

Well, had Hart not been so impressive last season, I'm sure he'll be one of those had-been touted as the next saviour to England's Keeper Woe.
