Wenger's target: Romeu has dropped down the pecking order at Nou Camp
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is planning another raid on Barcelona's youth academy - this time to in an attempt to sign 18-year-old defensive midfielder Oriol Romeu.
Wenger is hoping he can lure another gem away from the Catalan giants, just as he did with the Gunners' captain Cesc Fabregas in the summer of 2003.
Romeu is weighing up his options at the Bernabeu after dropping down the pecking order since the arrival of Argentina international Javier Mascherano from Liverpool.
A versatile midfielder, Romeu had moved onto the fringes of the Barca squad and was tipped for more first team action, mainly as back up for Sergio Busquets.
There may also be more options in the wake of Yaya Toure's departure to Manchester City.
But with the youngster yet to hold contract extension talks at the Nou Camp, Wenger has the chance to swoop and steal another emerging star from the Spanish club.
You take him on loan till he 23 okay?
Funny ar this Wenger.
