Diego Maradona admits Premier League fancy
Former Argentina coach Diego Maradona has confirmed his desire to manage in the Premier League.
Maradona led his national team to the World Cup quarter-finals this summer before a parting of the ways.
And
in an interview with Sky Sports News, the 49-year-old admitted the top
flight of English football holds a lot of temptation for him.
He said: “Yes, I would like to manage in the Premier League.
“It
has very good teams, an exceptional level and great players. The only
problem is all the teams I like in England have good coaches.
“If any important job comes along I will accept it.”
Maradona was one of the names linked with the Aston Villa vacancy during the summer, but he insists he was never in the running.
He continued: “I want to make it clear that I didn’t offer myself for any job, nor did anyone offer me anything.”
