i personally think liverpool fans are on many occasions too overly sensitive.
Not the type of Man U fan? Where?
Few years never come in this forum come back in recently to find out dragg is now signing the same tune as the moderator? Hehe

Unless he surprise me along with alot others... I will continue to keep to this opinion of the man.
dude, based on the last 20 years? other than liverpool & blackburn, kenny got newcastle to 2nd too. while roy switched like 15 clubs including relegating kenny's blackburn after 2 seasons.
liverpool fans are realistic - we don't expect kenny to win the league, but we can see kenny is an improvement over roy who may very well relegate liverpool - just 4 points from relegation when he left
Originally posted by zocoss:But he did kind of back stab Hodgson and no one likes a back-stabber... Just asked some Chelsea fan on Grant which they have that opinion of...
i did a search on 'kenny dalglish backstabber' and received just about nothing on this
my opinion is that your view on kenny is based on your feeling alone... i.e. bias?

Yes, Roy had to go...Kenny was in to unite the fans, he is certainly better in terms of man management as well.
The owner had to decide whether to stick with Roy or continue burning hole on their pocket. There were more than 10,000 unsold tickets for the Blackburn game! Even the season ticket holders couldn't be bother to turn up for the game.
It is a big statement from Zocoss regarding the backstabbing thing. I honestly did not expect it come out from him. Kenny has said nothing during Roy tenure but urged the fans to totally back Roy! That was after Roy said that Kenny's best role at the club is to continue as the club's ambassador. He felt threatened by Kenny's popularity to be honest...And what did he say regarding Frank Rijkaard? He said something like "he must be a very good manager to be sacked by Galatasaray? Damn...I felt totally ashamed as Liverpool supporter!

There is no place for compassion in the football management world and I see the same treatment given to Dalglish eventually if he fails to improve the team in the next six months. Moreover, Hodgson is given a golden handshake, mind you.
Sure Dalglish’s managerial skills are questionable but we don’t have much options at the moment cos not many managers would want to take the risk to come over to Liverpool at this point of time with the limited resources given. He receives the deserved homecoming because he is always a Liverpool legend. Would the United fans do the same if Robson or Cantona ever return to Old Trafford on a managerial role? Hell Yes! So I dun see anything wrong with the reaction of all Liverpool fans towards his homecoming.
I can’t see any objective comments made by the so-called United fans…They may need to worry more on the ever increasing debts of their club than anything else instead.
Dude, I don't think you should make such sweeping statements on fans of other club.
I'm sure the warning signs on managerial change are all there for all to see when the kop started chanting "Hodgson for England" and calls for Dalglish to be the manager. If Dalglish wants stability for the club in time like this, the least he could do was to come out and clear the air instead of publically admitting that he'd loved to take over Liverpool a second time.
I wish to link this to an earlier discussion: Was Dalglish still bitter that the job went to Hodgson instead of himself despite letting the board know of his intention? So sensing the opportunity to strike, he managed to stir the Anfield crowd by keeping mum the entire time, leading them to believe that he will be the man to lead Liverpool out of the dark.
Also, Blackpool was on a 2 game losing streak! Surely it's a shoo-in victory for Liverpool right?
Robson is a managerial joke please. The best thing he did was probably saving West Brom from relegation in the final match of the season 04-05. The rest was just disaster. Cantona? Who did he ever manage? Nike Commercials? Don't even mention Keane. He was a great leader but a really poor manager as seen during his spells at Sunderland and Ipswich. The only ex-United player worth taking a shot at being United Manager is probably Steve Bruce.
I was surprised that the owner did not appoint O Neil. Daglish was out of the game for so long, and with the players he inherited, the outcome is only the same. The owner should seriously pay good money to hire Guus Hiddink to stop the rot. if this goes on, forget about CL and UEFA next season, liverpool is seriously in danger of not finishing top 10.
liverpool board, since 1991, make wrong appointments. they made the same mistake again, can you imagine that after with roy hodgson and now kenny. kenny football philosophy is attacking and passing, but with the players he have, how to play the style he wants.

I think you would find many fulham fans who thinks roy shouldn't be sacked as well, or maybe villa fans surprised he's sacked before houllier who has done a far worse job with villa than o'dreary....no need to stir things up with man u fans
roy's love for konchesky can be said is the same as pool's fans love for kenny. he did a job at fulham and roy thought that he could do the same at pool, obviously it didn't work out so far....
whether it would work out for kenny remains to be seen as well
Originally posted by club18:as to the backstabbing part, dalglish gave his full backing to hodgson when he was appointed. look at what hodgson said somewhere along the lines of dalglish having every right to put his name forward for appointment.
and halfway thru he asked the fans to give hodgson more time as he was convinced hodgson was the right man (which he was wrong)
I don't think you are that naive right? One, two diplomatic statement and everything is nice ? You seriously think so?
Even our leaders say nice things about our neighbours. but behind the scene...
This is call politics my friend... And you can bet a company or a football club as big as Liverpool sure has it
As they say... Hidden dagger behind a smile...

Sometimes, people may not have or need to say things in the open but the undercurrent they create behind the scene are probably known to a few only... That could explain Roy's remarks in a hinting manner...
You of all person should know better cos in my exchanged with you over time, I belief you are of a mature mind unlike some others... And would understand in every job or company, politics plays an important part don't you agree?

didn't the owners burn a bigger hole by sacking roy??
well frank rijkaard really has done nothing besides barca, and during his time at barca it was somewhat like the situation between rangers and celtic, yes he did well to break the stranglehold by barca's only realistic rival but that's just that..he did win the champs league but there's pool fans who dun rate benitez too...
so yeah frank really is a good manager just like paul le guen....

Talk about that 2nd finish... You know Keegan manage more than half that season?
Kenny came in and profitted from it. But once his 'honeymoon period' was over and he was fully in charge there, he started replacing Keegan's players with his own the following season... He took them down, and I mean really way down from 2nd to out of the top 10 kind of down... If Pool fas are feeling bad about falling from 2nd to 7th in one season, imagine the Newcastle fans feeling... They were a top 4 club back then you know... I don't think anyone have ever seen such a big drop before...
And do you know why Newcastle fans called him "Dullglish " ?
Well, I think I don't need to say more as the name is more or less easy to understand... But it's definitely nothing to do with exciting football though...

on newcastle: kenny took over from keegan, and it's kenny's fault for taking newcastle down
on liverpool: roy took over from rafa, and it's rafa's fault that liverpool is 'rotting'
i think you're incapable of objective views on individuals, or maybe it's only when liverpool's involved

On Newcastle, who were a top 4 club back then... Kenny took over in like the last 4 months when they were already in the top 4 position and they ended that season well.
It's the following season that I am referring to... Where he had full control from before the start of the season and replaced Keegan's players... That season I think they ended up completely out of the top 10... 12 or 14 place I think...
If Rafa takes Pool from 2nd to 7th and the fans blamed him, the Newcastle fans does not have the right to blame Kenny for taking them from 2nd to out of the top 10? On top of that, replaced Keegan's attacking football with dull boring football? you say leh...
On Roy and Rafa... One had 6 yrs in charge, the structure from youth to reserved to first team were all under his controlled... Who arrived and who goes were all down to him for 6 long years... The other, only 6 months... Didn't even had a real opportunity to spend the new owner's money, you say leh...
Just wonder how come you are defending Rafa now? I thought you don't like him?... lol.
Eh eh eh guys I think we should let results tell ok. When they come, I'd certainly love to listen to more excuses by Liverpool fans but right now, no point arguing eh? Results will show whether or not he's the right man for the job.
