They will get you to take their hotel boat across the Chao Phraya River to the other side...where the Buffet Restaurant is.
Chinatown
Tell Taxi Driver to take you to "Yaowarat"
It’s a 4 lane one way one direction road. To your left look out for brightly lit "porky Pig" cartoon. This is the shop to buy all the munchies like bak hu, chilli flakes etc. The owners speak Teochew...if you speak to them can be thick skin and ask for discount. Also along this stretch you will find many street vendors. I only eat 2 things from the Street hawkers and these are MUST EAT no matter how full you are already. One is the toasted bread with butter and kaya. There is only one or two Street Hakwers selling this. The other is the Cheng Tng. Hot one....with ah boiling in the soup. The soup has strong ginger flavour tell the Hawker to add the full works of ingredients!!! Yummy!! only go to Yaowarat after 6pm
If you go to Central Dept Store at Chidlom BTS, go to top floor they have Marche style restaurant there for a wide variety of food in very cosy setting.
Near to Baiyoke sky, go to Baiyoke & Pratunam Market also visit the Platinum Fashion Mall.... all are wholesale markets.
Suan Lum Night Bazaar. Open: 18:00 - 00:00 (everyday)
Chatuchak Market (Weekend market) Open: 08:00 - 18:00 on weekends
Patpong Night Market. Open: 18:00 - around 01:00 (everyday)

Third Day

- Set out to Saphan Taksin to take express boat along Chao Phraya
- Cab to Chinatown, dinner and explore the night life in Chinatown
- Head to Erawan Shrine for a quick praying session
- Set off to Platinum Mall, followed by Phantip Mall
Any opinion is highly appreciated as this is my first trip to Thailand :)
1) how long do u plan to be at JJ market? for shoppers it can take up easily half a day. Stuff will be fully set up around noon.
2) Baan Khun Mae (Mother's home), heard of it but never tried it.
3) Express boat not worth it. Go to the lady at the pier (not the tourist looking counter) and buy a 8 baht ticket there.
4) Chinatown has no night life compared to other night markets. The shops are open in the morning. At night, just go eat and then go somewhere else.
5) In between your journey from Erawan to Platinum, you can drop by at the 7 storey shopping centre (Central World), they have 2 major departmental stores there : Isetan and Zen. You can typical local stuff like watch a movie or grab a meal there.
is it far to go to china town from south sathon road?

1) Don't plan to go through the whole market. Will just stay there for around 9am to noon, then head back to hotel to rest.
3) Where can I find this lady? She operates a boat also? Will it stop at the pier to let tourists off to visit the Wat Pho and Grand Palace?
4) Not too sure where to go besides Chinatown...any recommendation?
Thanks for the suggestions :)

the lady is seated at her own table directly at the queue where u board the boat. the thais will buy the tickets from her. u have to tell her which pier u are gonna get off then she give u the ticket.
at night? there are quite a few night markets... u can go to Bang Ka Pi and check out the night market around that area. but its not accessible by skytrain or MRT.
so for a safe night life, i suggest clubbing
going with bf?
if yes, then maybe u can try and request and tell them u are on honeymoon. they will give u upgrade to suite for free and lay all those nice nice roses and champange etc for u all.
