GEORGE MICHAEL PLEADS GUILTY TO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS
Singer George Michael pleaded guilty in a London court yesterday (May 8th), to driving under the influence of drugs. The troubled pop star has yet to be sentenced, and will appear in court again on May 30th where his guilty plea will be considered. If accepted, he faces a maximum six months in jail and $10,000 fine. While speaking to the judge, Michael said he felt ashamed for driving while unfit, which culminated when London police discovered him slumped over the wheel of his car.
He is due to start a European tour later this month.
In 1998 he was arrested for engaging in a lewd act in a Los Angeles public restroom.
He caused a scandal last year after smoking a marijuana joint during a television interview and declaring that it keeps him sane and happy.
