I get this message too, when im surfing outside, i just connect again and it would be working fine again.

for me, i was trying to connect to my router at home.
my router has WEP settings where i key in a passphrase.
i try to input the same passphrase in my PSP, but i guess PSP only allows HEX dec input. so i tried to find on the net how to convert to hex dec. although i got some progress, i try to key in the hex code, but still couldn't connect to the internet.
In the end i removed the WEP security from my router settings and put in MAC filter with my PSP MAC address added. then can le... so although it says 'unable to get IP address' or request time out' it might be due to your network settings. -
surfing at mac or using wireless@Sg might not have that problem. if you are surfing at home, you will have to check your router and your internet wireless settings. if you cant solve it, then you will have to contact your network provider to ask them about it. or call up the supplier of your router. thanks.
