Hello there, I started this topic because there has been a lot of inquiries about how and which folder games, videos and songs should be placed in the PSP.
What should you do first?
Note: you need to select "USB Connection" under the Settings in your PSP and your PSP must be turned on!
-The first thing you should do is of cos to connect your PSP to your computer.
-secondly, select and open the memory stick folder/PSP folder[just the same as using a thumb drive or mp3]. Then you are "inside" the PSP already.
Number 1, Games:
-your games should be in ISO or CSO format to enable your PSP to read and launch the game without any problems.
-you must be inside the memory stick folder after your connected your PSP to the computer. And inside the folder, you should see a folder named "ISO".
-double click on the ISO folder and paste your games inside. And thats all! You can now turn on your PSP and play your games.
Number 2, Videos:
-first, your video must be in MP4 PSP format. There are various types of video converters out there but I recommend Xilisoft Video Converter.
-after converting your video to MP4 PSP format, open up the "Videos" folder and just paste your files inside like the way you did for the games. And you should be able to play your video without any hassle if you follow the steps stated.
Number 3, Songs:
-this is the easiest part. Just open up the "Songs" folder and paste your sound files in it and thats all. MP3 or WMA formats are playable.
Read on only if you can't file any of the folders stated above
Q: I can't find the "Videos" folder, what should I do?
A: All you need is to back up your important files in your PSP and then reformat the memory stick using the PSP. This would auto create the "Videos" folder for you so you can place your files in when you connect your PSP to the computer.
Q: I can't seem to play the games I placed in the PSP
A: there are a lot of possibilities. Before panicking, please confirm if your PSP has been downgraded or made to play homebrew games first. You have to check whether you have placed the game in the correct folder[you must paste it in the "Games" folder when you connect your PSP to the computer]. Your games must be either ISO or CSO format only. OR, you need a UMD[demo or the ones with games is fine] or else the PSP would not allow you to run the games.
