erm, for specalist course, there are only 3 choices of ranks to be given
1st: CPL aka no rank -- as you go in as a cpl and come out as a cpl << which means that you have been through the course, but your standard is not up to a specalist standard, and it's what everybody tries to avoid, furthermore, i have seen 4 people in my cohort not getting it, and man, they were heartbroken.
2nd: 3rd Sgt > forms the mass majority of specalist and the most amt of ranks which will be given to cadets, that has the understanding and knowledge of a specalist in ncc.
3rd: 2nd Sgt> there's a quota for this rank which means that only x people from x company ect, and it's not easily given out to cadets. Cadets must show great understanding, leadership qualities and knowledge about ncc to get this rank. It's the maximum that you can get when you are in the course.
Cookie > aka ncc-army badge: Apart from ranks, during the course, you will go through your army ncc test, where you will be tested on the stripping of rifles, the loading/unloading of rifles, IFC, IA drills ect.
This test will be a firm guideline of what you have learnt during your 3 yeras in ncc, and gives u essential tips and knowledge for your spec life.
