Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Thierry Henry will not return to training before the middle of June.
The fleet-footed forward suffered groin and stomach injuries against PSV Eindhoven last week and Arsenal confirmed he would play no further part in their campaign.
Henry said in an interview on Monday that it would be five months before he would be able to return, which would suggest he may not be fit for the start of the season.
Wenger is unsure when Henry will be back in the correct shape to return, but has stressed he will not be put through his paces before June.
"The real truth is he is out until we start training again, which is when we return in the beginning of July," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"We are now in March. April, May and June he will be out for and maybe practice again in mid June.
"He will certainly not do it before June."
