Jose Antonio Reyes believes that it would not be a disaster if Real Madrid do not decide to make his loan move permanent at the end of the season.
The Spanish international is spending the season at the Bernabeu as part of an exchange deal that saw Julio Baptista join Arsenal on a temporary basis.
Last summer Reyes made it clear that he did not want to remain in England and was given his wish to return to Spain.
During the current campaign, the 23-year-old has appeared regularly but has only completed five matches and doubts remain whether he will stay.
"If I do not end up staying then I will try to look for a solution and if I can stay then that would be much better," Reyes told Marca.
"It would not be a disaster if I do not though.
"I have been trying to prove myself since I arrived and now the end of the season is approaching and I have to show that I am worth keeping.
"But I am staying calm because the club has faith in me and I have faith in them and at the end of the season we can sit down and talk.
"I wanted to play here and now I have."
Whether he does stay or not, Reyes is intent on helping Madrid to win the league title this season and has not given hope of catching the joint leaders Barcelona and his former club, Sevilla.
"We have 11 finals left and we have to win all of them," he explained.
"The team does not think about drawing or losing, we know in our minds that we have to win every match."
