Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been checking on former Sunderland goalkeeper Jurgen Macho.
Wenger could be in the market for a new keeper in the summer as doubts remain over Jens Lehmann's future at Emirates Stadium.
Macho, who currently plays for Kaiserslautern in Bundesliga Zwei, has been linked with a move to The Gunners.
Scouts have been watching the Austrian and Wenger opted to take in Wednesday's friendly with France to assess Macho personally.
Though he did not expand on any interest in the shot-stopper, the Arsenal manager confirmed he was keen to look at Macho.
"My scouts have been impressed by Macho, so I wanted to see him play," Wenger told TF1.
Macho kept a clean sheet against Arsenal on his Sunderland debut in 2000 and he also spent a season as back-up at Chelsea.
He joined Kaiserslautern in 2005 and is under contract for a further year as the club chase a return to Germany's top flight.
