Former Monaco general manager Henri Biancheri has expressed an interest in becoming Arsenal's new director of football.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in a new man to succeed former vice-chairman David Dein.
Wenger admitted he will handpick Dein's successor and he is looking to establish a director of football role to undertake the task of contracts and player recruitment.
Tottenham sporting director Damien Comolli ruled out leaving White Hart Lane for Arsenal after he had been linked with the role.
But Biancheri, who is a close friend of Wenger having worked with him at Monaco, has thrown his hat into the ring at Arsenal.
"I am very good friends with Arsene and he knows what my value is," said Biancheri, told the Guardian.
"I am open to whatever propositions or proposals he may have."
Biancheri is currently out of work after parting company with Monaco earlier this season.
hmmm... y wenger cannot do the buying of players himself?
