Adebayor signs new deal, doubles wages

  Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has signed a new contract at Arsenal, and effectively doubling his weekly wages of £14,000 a week.
  
  According to his agent Stephane Courbis, Adebayor turned down offers from Manchester United and Juventus to stay on at the Emirates Stadium.
  
  Coubis said: "Manu signed his deal. He wanted to stay and work with Arsène - although there were very good offers from Juventus and Manchester United.
  
  "He feels at home at Arsenal and has a real bond with the fans. Now he wants to repay Arsène's faith in him."
