Real Madrid have confirmed their interest in Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas's future at Arsenal has been the subject of conjecture following Thierry Henry's departure from Emirates Stadium.
The midfielder's agent has claimed Fabregas's future is tied to that of Arsene Wenger and that he could leave if the Frenchman decides to quit Arsenal.
Fabregas has made no secret of the fact that he wishes to return to Spain at some point in the future and Real would love to lure the playmaker to El Santiago Bernabeu.
Real's sporting director Predrag Mijatovic admitted the Spanish champions have been trailing Fabregas for over a year and that they would be keen on signing him along with a host of top clubs.
"Of course we are interested in Cesc," Mijatovic told Marca.
"We've been interested in him for over a year now and we are still interested.
"He is a great player and I expect all the big clubs will be interested."
Arsenal are unlikely to entertain any move for Fabregas who signed an eight-year deal at the club last October and is instrumental to Wenger's plans for the coming season.
Oh noes! Will he leave the gunners?
If he leaves, most probably FC Barcelona rather than Real Madrid.
Man he is still only 19/20! 5 years down the road he would only be 25.
hope fabregas dun follow henry...
