Comparisons between Thierry Henry and Eduardo are pointless, according to Arsène Wenger.
The Arsenal manager brought in the Croatian striker 10 days after the record goal-scorer ended his eight-year spell in north London and moved to Barcelona.
Wenger admits that the departure of Henry led to a swift swoop for another forward. But that is where any similarities must end.
“Eduardo is a completely different player,” said the Frenchman after the 2-0 over Barnet at the weekend. “He is less individual.
“Thierry Henry could take ball in the middle of park and score a goal that no one else in the world could score. Eduardo is more of a mobile guy around the box with a nose for a goal. He is more a team player but he does not have the individual potential that Thierry had to score from anywhere.”
