Wenger: Rosicky Will Be OK, Eduardo Looked Good
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reassured fans that Tomas Rosicky would be fit for the start of the new season after the Czech midfielder was substituted half-an-hour into the Gunners' 1-0 defeat by Red Bull Salzburg in Wednesday's friendly.
Rosicky was replaced by Bacary Sagna and Wenger revealed he had a slight hamstring strain, but said there were no worries about the player not being ready for the start of the Premiership season.
Wenger also praised his new £8 million striker Eduardo da Silva, who impressed despite missing several chances against the Austrian side.
"Eduardo could have scored four," Wenger told ArsenalTV. "He looked very dangerous, and he has shown he is top quality.
"Sagna was also solid, it was his first game but he did well."
Overall the Gunners' boss was happy with his team's performance in a game he felt had offered them useful experience in trying to break down well organised defences
"I'm happy with how we played, and with the spirit shown. The result was not important," said Wenger.
"We knew the last 20 minutes would be difficult, but we should have scored five before they scored.
"They were very defensive, which is what we face in our league, and we created plenty of chances."
