Cesc Fabregas has heaped praise on new signing Eduardo da Silva, but he insists the forward is not a substitute for Thierry Henry.
The Brazilian-born Croatia international arrived at the Emirates Stadium this summer in a ??million deal from Dinamo Zagreb and Fabregas likes what he has seen.
Da Silva netted his first Arsenal goal in their recent 2-1 friendly victory over Lazio and Fabregas is hopeful the striker will continue, without comparisons to Henry.
The French striker is now at Barcelona, following a move, and Fabregas hopes Da Silva will help the club move on.
"Of course I am very satisfied for Eduardo scoring his first goal," Fabregas told the Daily Star.
Move forward
"It's always nice to score and to do it early in his Arsenal career is very good.
"He is very clever. He has a lot of skill and will do well for Arsenal this season.
"But he is Eduardo and he is his own player in his own right.
"He is not Henry, they are two different players and should not be compared.
"Thierry has gone and we must move forward with the players we have now and focus on the season ahead."
