THEY thought they were going home after school.
But two Malaysian undergraduates faced an afternoon of hell earlier this month when they were reportedly forced to remain on a bus and then, molested and robbed by a limousine driver.
The driver, V Ganason was charged on Thursday with eight counts of outraging the modesty of two Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia students and confining, robbing and threatening to injure them.
He allegedly robbed the students of RM76.20 ($33), three handphones and a laptop computer at knife-point, and threatened to hurt them with a knife and curry powder which he said was acid.
Ganason allegedly committed the offences in a factory workers' bus by the roadside near Kajang Municipal Council's mini stadium in Bandar Baru Bangi at 9.45am on 3 Apr.
Ganason allegedly struck when he picked up the two unsuspecting students at their campus in Bangi in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. They boarded the bus to return to their hostel reported New Straits Times.
When Ganason drove out of the campus, the victims confronted him but he told them he was not familiar with the area. He then stopped the bus and allegedly confined them in the bus and outraged their modesty by undressing them.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
For confining the students, Ganason faces a maximum of one year jail or a fine of up to RM2,000 ($883) or both. For criminal intimidation with the intention to outrage the girls' modesty, he faces up to 10 years jail or a fine or whipping or both.
His trial is set or 20 Aug.
