AN 18-year-old student in Kuala Lumpur has claimed that she was almost raped by the person who was supposed to protect her - a security guard.
The Tunku Abdul Rahman College student said at a press conference yesterday that she had been leaving the campus after an exam on Saturday when someone hit her head, reported TheStar.
She said: 'When I turned around to defend myself, I saw that it was the security guard.'
She claimed he hit her head with a rock at least 20times until she collapsed.
He allegedly dragged her to a slope near the lecture hall and started undressing her.
He tried to rape her, she claimed, but she managed to get away.
Another security guard saw her and helped her clean her wounds, then captured the suspect.
The girl, who has made a police report, said she was set upon at the back entrance, which she had used because of its covered walkway to the main road.
It had been raining at the time.
Said the girl: 'If I'd had an umbrella, I would have used the front entrance and would have avoided him.
She said she went public about her experience because she did not want it to happen to anyone else.
'Please carry pepper spray, an umbrella or something for protection,' she added.
The police said they are investigating the case
