the challenges of being a teacher?

heyy, all my life I've wanted to be a diplomat, but recently, I've had this sudden passion to teach. I'm only 14, so there's still a lot of time for me to change my mind. my mom has already told me that I would be "wasting my life" if I chose to be a teacher..
so what are the challenges of being a teacher?
what are the good things about being one?
and what are the bad?
IF I chose to be a teacher, would it be better to be one who taught p6 kids, or one who taught secondary kids? (by better, I mean, in terms of effectiveness and impact on lives ....)
Is it possible to be BOTH a teacher AND a diplomat? -
well maybe you could do volunteer teaching if you are posted overseas....
want to know the challenge of being a teacher? well when you go back to school, ask your teacher how was his or her holiday. he/she will tell you, 'What holiday?' while you students are happily mucking around or relaxing in swimming pools, the teachers have to mark papers, set questions, attend work improvement workshops. but never mind about that.
observe the difficulty a teacher has in controlling an unruly class; a chinese teacher trying to teach a class of unmotivated potato eating students; the mathematically hopeless students strugggling with calculus and integration. but never mind that.
you also have to deal with the expecations of your superiors. then there is the politicking and backstabbing by fellow teachers.
with so much trouble why would anyone want to teach? i don't know.... ask a teacher perhaps.

IMHO JC is easiest to teach, followed by Secondary school, then primary school.

also, is it possible to observe classes (of primary school teachers) without taking a course beforehand?
