Hi hi
Does anyone bring their infants (ie 0 to 18/24 mths) on vacations overseas?
What are the likely destinations that are deemed ''suitable'' for infants, not that they will understand and appreciate the trip but rather, making it an enjoying trip for the whole family/friends/relatives without draining the life energy of the parents and their friends and relatives and robbed off the fun factor.
Most of the families I have spoken to do not bring their infants on such overseas trip cos -
1. too young to understand and appreciate
2. gotta spend a great deal if not same amount of time to look after
them
3. unable to enjoy cos too preoccupied looking after infants
4. waste of money as infants are charged at 40/50% of the full fare.
5. causes irritation to the rest of the tour group cos of infant
''logistics'' like daipers changing/pass motion/crying when on
the coach. (not all like children especially infants)
Rather, these families will only take their kids at least 5 yrs and above overseas in order to make it more enjoyable and memorable.
I have a friend whose youngest is only 3 and oldest is 7 has never
bring her kid overseas as the reason cited as above. To fully understand and appreciate the trip, she said she will only bring them on overseas holidays when the youngest is at least 5 and above.
Any one has a differing opinion or comment?
i think depends on individual ba. let's hear your view first.
LOL....for me....i think at least 2 yr or more...that's when they are old enough to walk steadily on their own.
More importantly...is that the family can enjoy the warmth of being together in a trip.....especially overseas...nvm the inconveniences of chaning diaphers/feeding milk etc etc...........
Depends on where u go. Babies fall sick easily (strange viruses on distant land), some trips require mountain hiking, climbing narrow stairs (u drop them they r gone), long trips on bus/boat tat sway a lot (motion sickness), passengers tat require sleep and cannot stand constant crying (consideration), temperature can be extreme (winter)
Babies r fragile and a burden and they do not remember anything on the trip later. For safety sake leave the baby at the care of your parents or something. U can enjoy the warmth later when they grow up and know wat they r doing
best is ask tour agency
