I normally replace my running shoes every 1 to 1.5 years, because I feel that the rubber compound in the shoe changes it's properties after that time. Sure enough this year I used my running shoes for 2 years, injured my ankles, I think it's because of the changes in the rubber compound in the shoes.
I normally run with Asics Kayano series, but this year I was adventurous and slightly richer and decided to try Asics Kinsei 2. After using my new shoes for 2 runs, I find that I can run better. Perhaps it's psychological, I don't know, but it sure feels like the shoes are absorbing the shocks from the roads much better.
1) What brand and model of running shoes do you guys/gals use?
2) How often do you replace your running shoes?
1) ASICS DS Trainer, SAF Brooks, FILA (forgot model name).
2) i rotate between my running shoes, but i'll change them after i notice that the soles are not as "soft" as before and that the thread marks are disappearing.
brooks running shoes are very good. they are very light.
i change my shoes every year. (so far, all my shoes fall to pieces by around 9-10 months of usage. i.e. the soles coming off, holes, etc.)
I just use SAF running shoes...

SAF running shoes also not bad, but how often do you change it?
You must have ORDed quite a few years already. The pair you ORDed with must be at least 2.5 years old now. No need to change to a new pair? The cushioning has no problems?
depend on how often u run la.. u run 3 4 times a week, half a yr, 1 yr must change liao.. if not can still tahan up to 1.5 or 2 yrs no..?
for me brooks and asics la..not the SAF brooks.. some of the lighter brooks nice..

usual price is $155, got it through bulk order for $93. not sure about pronators, but its meant for stability. the person say i tend to slap my foot when i land. he initially suggested a 1223 but it was too expensive so I got the 768 instead.
new balance is no longer in? i prefer those designed with neon strips. handy and safe for running and walking about in complete darkness before daylight. prolly 120 or so can get a good pair.
for me every 2 years. i don't even run, just use it for work and walkabouts perhaps thrice a week for a whole day. machine wash twice a year.
i remember a survey done on running shoes a year back.
users were given running shoes without a brand over a period of time. between the ones within 40 bucks price range to renowned brands such as nike and asics, there's no difference in wear and tear + comfort.
verdict = consumers are paying a tidy sum for branding
those sports label could not be reached for comments.

if you managed to get it through bulk order, it's quite cheap.
i normally go over to Queensway.
