Hello Singapore, Hello Singles Club~~
Let me update you guys on the happenings.
1) I did not experience the Earthquake.
But I went through a bad storm. My first day, 2nd dive, we were told to do an emergency recall after only 27mins in the water. There was apparently a "storm" brewing. Water was choppy and rough. My boat consists of 1 boatman, 2 DMs (R & M), and 7 divers.
When most of the divers are in the boat, my friend and I with another DM was left in the water. As the load is pretty heavy, the boatman will drop off the divers and DM R who were already on the boat and come back for us.
We drifted for about an hr in the water. Just the 3 of us - DM M, my friend and myself. After much crapping and trying to stay calm, the boatman with 2 other helpers and DM R, came back for us.
DM R jumped into the water. The tide was pretty high and water was very very choppy. DM M paired up with my friend, and DM R with myself.
DM R and me followed the waves to the shore (WITH ALOT OF ROCKS), and disengaged my BCD, weightbelt and fins. All the while with the strong waves pushing us against those big rocks.
DM M and my friend managed to get into the boat.
DM R and myself then shifted the gears and equipment to the beach further down and DM M swam in to help us.
It was my first experience in such a situation. No doubt. But saved by 2 amazing DMs.
2) Last night, we met with another storm. Big rain this time. Pouring cats and dogs are an understatement. But we were already back on the main island, so nothing bad happened. But we only got to eat dinner at 9pm.
3) Overall, the 3days 2nights stay with 6 dives were good. Managed to see 2 Hawksbill Turtle (juvenile), Titan triggerfishes, Bamboo sharks, Jenkins Whipray, loads of clownfish, Snappers, Garoupers, Porcupinefish, Boxfish, Blue spotted ribbontail ray, Orangespine Unicornfish, Squirrelfish, Barracudas, Pufferfish, Parrotfish, White eye moray, and tonnes and tonnes of other fishes.
If you feel that this is a lot, the other dive team saw more! Haha
Anyway, I'm glad to have taken this trip and back home safely. God bless.
