I thought that the family would have accepted their off springs as part of their own since they have given their blessings to your parents already.
BTW if you don,t mind which side of your family is chinese and which is malay.....

How does your chinese family converse normally? Mandarin? Hokkien? Cantonese?
Are you able to speak mandarin or dialect then? What's your 2nd lang in school? When you are with your chinese family maybe you can try conversing in their mother tongue, it might be able to help in resolving misunderstanding. Maybe there are some deep rooted conflicts in your family even before you were born....
