Just like most men like to compete to be at the top of their career / own the nicest ride / live in a fancy address with a showcase house, they want their wives to be a 'trophy', someone so sexy and pretty that other men will oogle at her and comment on how lucky he is, he must be the alpha male to be able to get her.
I think culture and peer pressure has a part to play with it too. If you grow up in a culture that values beauty and materialism, it's hard not to succumb to the 'norm'. Also, if your peers are always talking about chio bu's and all that, you of course, will end up wanting to be in the 'same gang', speak the same lingo, think the same thoughts, etc.
There... is my attempt at an explanation apt enough?

guys see looks firsts...then cometh character...
i usually like to profile people so for my case, looks and character comes together...
there are some guys out there who like fat girls you know...

Got guys like fat girls la.. but it's only 1 out of 10 ppl. If u wanna get a bf, dun hiam his looks first, because u should also noe ur own limits.

I like this particular chubby/fat girl because her lips are very attractive to me...when my eyes saw it, i had a desire to kiss it..better still if can hug her while doing so....so soft and comfortable...hmmmm....
Not a day passes without having this thought...lol

Well i'm chubby also , but i can accept gers who are of cos pretty n shapely to the chubby type lor . I have girl friends who are skinny to the extreme , which everytime i see her i suspect her to be suffering from bulimia . She really is thin untill like those prisoner of war you see on tv . Well its true that guys empthasise more on looks when they look at gers . But to me although looks also play a aprt , i empthasis more on char . So if a ger is very pretty n shapely but does not have a good char i wun like her also . But if a ger has a very good char , but looks are just so so , i will seriously consider her .
So moral of the story , there are guys who put looks more then inner beauty , but there are also guys who put inner beauty more then looks . Anyway i also still looking for a gf lol :P
