Life after NS, school vs work. It's best to plan early ^^

  Of course, if possible, school would always be better...

  But the thing is, I am not sure which school is available for me...

  I wanna study maybe something more towards FnB line...
  either on service side, or on food side... Or any other suggestion?

  huh? there are many academies that teaches cooking. Like Sunrice etc. google it yourself 

  keywords: culinary, F&B etc. prompt me if you cannot find it yourself.

  Sunrice isnt cheap.but if you got the money, its worth the learning.

  Hi Brain, just very curious, chef got many levels right? How much is a chef earn per month roughly? Around 8k to 10k per month?

  It all depends on the rank you're climbing on the ladder.
  the lower your position, the least you'll get.
  lets say,
  Junior Sous Chef to Executive Chef, 8k to 15k or perhaps even more.
  Chef de Cuisine or Chef De party, is about 4.5k to below.
  A normal Chef/Head Chef, about 1.3k and above but below 2k.
  A cook 1-4 , 500 - 1.4k

  Also salary around the range you stated?

  And also the position the same too?

  Supposing my friend work in Japanese chef for more than 15 yrs, but recently quit and join another japanese resturant, can he get 8k to 15k per month?

  Ah, that depends.i have got no field experiences yet in Japanese Cuisine.but the ranging price being paid should be a slight differences.
  15years of experience, wow.well, perhaps he might get alittle more than the previous job.

  For I know, usually the top chief chef in jap restaurant are "Japanese" chef. Most likely, your friend is an assistant. And 4 K plus is considered a lot. I would expect $3K for him

  Salary growth stop at 1 to 2 years at current title. It is likely that the salary stay stagnant despite of experience.

  Dont expect the F&B to be high earner in the first place, it is reflected in your food menu on the cost price.

  Not just 1 to 2 years, it could be even 20 years plus and you're still at the same position and most probably get paid alittle more.

  That is why your parents ask you to study hard, get an office job, work in the bank in the future. 

  Not to mention, the working hours from 10 am to 3 pm and 5 pm to 1130 pm. That is almost like 13 hours in the restaurant from mon to sun (with 1 weekday break). There is no rest on public holiday. Not even on Chinese New Year. 

  That is why I have to pass Christmas gift to my friend during his working hours at his workplace... lol.
