Ma Wan (traditional Chinese: 馬ç£; pinyin: MÇŽwÄn) is an island of Hong Kong, located between Lantau Island and Tsing Yi Island. The island belongs to Tsuen Wan District. It has an area of 0.96 km². It is today more well known as Park Island (a private housing estate on the island).
Two channels separate Ma Wan and other major islands. To the east is the Ma Wan Channel, separating it from Tsing Yi Island; to the South West is Kap Shui Mun, separating it from Lantau Island. The north seafront is opposite Tsing Lung Tau on the mainland New Territories. The South is facing Tang Lung Chau island.

Although the Hong Kong government originally claimed it would be "physically impossible" to give the island a road connection via the Lantau Link, this proved to be possible after all as part of the Park Island construction. The island is now connected to Tsing Yi by the Tsing Ma Bridge (a suspension bridge), and to Lantau Island by the Kap Shui Mun Bridge (a cable-stayed bridge). Both bridges are part of the Lantau Link.

Sheung Wan is an area in Hong Kong, located in the north-west of Hong Kong Island (in between Central and Sai Ying Pun). It is part of the Central and Western District. The name can be variously interpreted as Upper District (occupying relatively high ground compared to Central and Wan Chai), or Gateway District (perhaps a reference to the location where the British first entered and occupied Hong Kong).
History of Sheung Wan
Sheung Wan was one of the earliest settled places by the British, and belonged to the historical Victoria City. The site of the original occupation of Hong Kong island by British forces in 1842 was at Possession Street, between Queen's Road Central and Hollywood Road. A plaque to this effect can be found in Hollywood Road Park at the top of Possession Street. The foot of Possession Street, Possession Point, was at that time on the shoreline, but is now several hundred yards inland due to reclamation
Sai Wan Ho is an area on the northeastern shore of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, between Quarry Bay and Shau Kei Wan.
Sai Wan Ho is part of the Eastern District, and is administered together with surrounding areas under the Eastern District Council. Sai Wan Ho is conventionally agreed to extend between the Taikoo Shing Road, Shau Kei Wan Road and King's Road junction to the west, and the Shau Kei Wan tram depot in the east. It is bounded by the Victoria Harbour to the north, and mountains to the south.

Sai Wan Ho is primarily residential. The hill was once filled with squatter settlements, which were later demolished and replaced with new residential buildings. Taikoo Shing, redeveloped from Taikoo Dockyard, spans the east end of the area. From the 1980s through the 2000s, extensive reclamation drastically reshaped the shore. Private housing estates were built near the new sea front, like Lei King Wan, Les Saisons and Grand Promenade. However, older buildings such as Tai On Building still remain further inland.

Chai Wan, formerly known as Sai Wan (西) mistakenly, is at east end of the urban area on Hong Kong Island and next to Shau Kei Wan in Hong Kong. It is built on land reclaimed from the bay. The land extends west near Lei Yue Mun in Heng Fa Chuen and east to Siu Sai Wan. The hills, Mount Collinsion and Pottinger Peak on the south and Mount Parker on the west, restrict further development.
The area is currently administrated by the Eastern District, with mosaic of industrial and residential area. The population was 186,505 in 2001.
Chai Wan is not to be confused with Wan Chai, which is another area on Hong Kong Island.
Shau Kei Wan (traditional Chinese: ç²ç®•ç£) or Shaukeiwan, Shaukiwan is a town in Eastern District, Hong Kong. Literally, Shau Kei means a pail, and Wan implies that the town is developed along the coast. Nowadays it is a relatively densely populated town compared with some developing areas.
Taikoo Shing, or Tai Koo Shing (traditional Chinese: 太城), is a private housing estate in Kornhill, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It forms a part of the Swire Group's Island East residential and retail branding, along with TaiKoo Place, the adjacent Cityplaza retail and office complex and EAST, a lifestyle business hotel.
More than 40,000 people live in Taikoo Shing, a moderately concentrated area by Hong Kong standards.
