Hong Kong Temple Street Acid Attack: Acid Thrower At Large. (dated 11 Jan 2010)
The acid thrower in Saturday's acid attack in Hong Kong remains at large after the wrong suspect was arrested over the weekend. The acid attack that took place Saturday injured 30 people when two bottles of acid were thrown in the tourist shopping area of Temple Street.
The outdoor Temple Street market, frequented by both locals and tourists, was the target area for the attack. Up to four acid attacks have taken place in the last year in the shopping area of Mong Kok, a location very close to the Temple Street market. Shoppers in these areas have been targeted from above with bottles of corrosive acid.

2 people was caught on 14 January 2010.
i was at Temple Street on 21 January 2010... haha.. saw many police officers around,...
some of the unlucky tourists, people at the scene at the wrong time...
those pple really got nothing better to do..
kena caught muz use acid (not the aka siao eh) & give them the same treatment..
yeah...
nothing better to do... maybe rival triads activity to sabo other triad's area..
was there ( 1 week later ) ... business as usual.. but
those food stalls (with tables outside their premises) are NOT allowed to put extra tables along the lanes leading to Temple Street.... in case of Acid-Throwing incidents again...
hence, the food hawkers businesses was reported down alot....(many people stayed away)
eh, coming to think of it maybe the mastermind is indeed.....
it's a normal practise that HK food hawkers "extend their tables capacity" outside their stores (premises).... hence.. when accidents happened... you can expect higher casualities.
juz praying dat no idiot will try this at lau pa sat..
Singapore ??
nobody will be that Kam-Lan lah...
where got time...
you think Singapore Ah Beng stoopig one huh ? lol.
Portland Street is a popular street in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The street is known for its business and retailing skyscraper complex Langham Place, numerous restaurants and its famous red-light district.
A chaos of neon greets visitors to Hong Kong's Portland Street.
Daytime on Portland Street..
Hotel tower of Langham Place viewed from about 1.6 km (one mile) away. The structure is one of Kowloon's tallest.
Langham Place, a 167,000 square meter (1.8 million square foot) shopping centre, theatre, hotel and office tower complex opened on Portland Street near the Nelson Street intersection in July 2004.
The complex has its own MTR station access (Mong Kok station exit C3). Outside one of the complex's east entrances is a large jumbotron broadcasting news and entertainment shows for pedestrians below.
Since its opening, Langham Place and surrounding areas has become a popular night-time destination for both locals and tourists. Some had predicted the massive upscale development would gentrify the area and drive away the Portland Street sex trade. However, after almost two years of operation, Langham Place's impact on the nearby sex industry remains minimal.
Other establishments along Portland Street includes fast-food restaurants, congee/noodle shops, convenience stores and working class residential highrises. Near the Soy Street intersection during the evenings, there are often unlicensed food stands and professional Chinese Chess players plying their trades. Further south, there is a small public playground at the Changsha Street intersection along with the budget Tatami Hampton hotel. And at the street's extreme southern end is the 8 Waterloo residential complex.
I like:
Pei Ho Street
Nelson Street
Middle Road
yea
Pei Ho Street is street in Sham Shui Po, New Kowloon, Hong Kong. The street is also a market and full of hawkers. The former Urban Council had built a Pei Ho Street Municipal Services Building (then known as Pei Ho Street Urban Council Complex) accommodating some stalls in old market.
Low economic profile and height limit of buildings on airway of former Kai Tak Airport helps Pei Ho Street to preserve buildings on the earliest planned town of Sham Shui Po in Western Kowloon. The style of Ke Lau (騎樓), balcony with two front pillars, once popular in colonial Hong Kong prior to World War II are easily found on the street.
The end of the Pei Ho Street was the former Sham Shui Po Ferry Pier. The pier was an important ferry pier from 1920s to 1970s. Thousands of commuters took ferry to Central on the Hong Kong Island
HK Nelson Street + Ladies Market junction.
Middle Road is a road in Tsim Sha Tsui of Kowloon in Hong Kong, across Nathan Road and parallel to Salisbury Road. The road was formerly at the bay between Blackhead Point and the hill where the Former Marine Police Headquarters Compound stands. The bay was reclaimed for the construction of former Kowloon Station of the Kowloon-Canton Railway while the Peninsula Hotel was built on the reclamation between Kowloon Station and the Middle Road. At the Blackhead Point end of the road stands the Mariner's Club and Hermes House.
