In ‪#Buddhism‬, lunar July is the Buddha joyful month and lunar July 15 is Buddha Joyful day. When the Buddha was alive, his disciples meditated in the forests of India during the rainy season of summer. Three months later, on the fifteen day of the seventh month, they would emerge from the forests to celebrate the completion of their meditation and report their progress to the Buddha. Because of the large number of disciples obtained enlightment on July 15, the Buddha was very pleased. Hence the name - Buddha Joyful Day -

The Buddha teaches that you all have your kamma, intentional acts that result in a favorable or unfavorable outcome, as your possession.
Whatever you do you are the recipients.
Through his enlightenment he could see that your joy and sorrow are the consequences of your actions done through your body, speech and thought.
If you do good, wholesome and meritorious kamma, happiness and prosperity, would follow.
On the other hand if you do bad, unwholesome, and demeritorious kamma, sorrow and deprivation would follow.
Knowing you all desire happiness and detest pain he therefore exhorts you to do good and avoid doing evil because good kamma generates joy and peace, while doing evil creates stress and pain for both yourself and others.
If you cannot do good, at least you should abstain from doing bad kamma.
Your mind may not be cool, but at least it’s not on fire. Unwholesome actions can be committed in three ways, through body, speech and mind that would result in sorrow and pain. -

The sutras teach:
Bodhisattvas fear causes, sentient beings fear effects and results.
Bodhisattvas, being wary of evil results, eliminate evil causes. Sentient beings all too often vie to create evil causes and then have to endure evil results. When enduring suffering, they do not know enough to practice repentance, but create more evil karma in the hope of escaping retribution. Thus, injustice and retribution follow upon one another continuously, without end. It is so pitiful and frightening to think about it!
Knowing this truth, those who do not seek rebirth in the Pure Land are not yet truly among the wise!
