How to Live Each Day——Slow down when you are about to lose your temper.
When we are about to lose our temper, we should say to our selves, “Pause, take five deep breaths, and think it over.” This will give our minds a chance to calm down, and our tempers will not flare up. In this way, anger and hatred will vanish.
脾氣慢��:
我們發脾氣的時候,å�ªè¦�肯å°�自己說:ç‰ä¸€æœƒå…’,慢五分é�˜ï¼Œæˆ‘想一想。如æ¤è„¾æ°£å°±ç™¼ä¸�起來了,憎æ�¨å¿ƒå°±æ¶ˆé™¤äº†ã€‚

We often advise others to take care of their health, but we seldom think of nurturing the mind. Actually, nurturing the mind is much more important than taking care of our health. Our mental health can improve our physical health. How do we nurture our mind? I have four suggestions to offer:
1. Use equanimity and willpower to nurture the mind.
2. Use prajna, or wisdom, to nurture the mind.
3. Use meditative concentration and purity to nurture the mind.
4. Use emptiness and tolerance to nurture the mind.
我們經常勸別人è¦�ä¿�é‡�身體,å�»å¾ˆå°‘想到è¦�ä¿�養心ç�†ã€‚實際上養心比養身更é‡�è¦�ï¼Œå› ç‚ºå¿ƒç�†çš„建è¨ã€�心ç�†çš„å�¥å…¨ï¼Œèƒ½å¢žåŠ èº«é«”çš„å�¥åº·ï¼Œæ‰€ä»¥å¦‚何養心呢? 我有四點æ„�見:
第一, 以和平願力來養心。
第二, 以般若�慧來養心。
第三, 以��禪淨來養心。
第四, 以空無包容來養心。

Then your mind will become still in any surroundings, like a clear forest pool. All kinds of wonderful, rare animals will come to drink at the pool, and you will clearly see the nature of all things.

It requires first of all that we come home to ourselves, that we make peace with our suffering, treating it tenderly, and looking deeply at the roots of our pain. It requires that we let go of useless, unnecessary sufferings and take a closer look at our idea of happiness.
Finally, it requires that we nourish happiness daily, with acknowledgment, understanding, and compassion for ourselves and for those around us. We offer these practices to ourselves, to our loved ones, and to the larger community. This is the art of suffering and the art of happiness. With each breath, we ease suffering and generate joy. With each step, the flower of insight blooms.
