When you have more good and compassionate thoughts, bad thoughts will be lessen, bad karma will start to disappear.

"The good man should not tire of his
good deeds. Till their fruit ripens, he
may have to suffer bad times. But once
the good deeds ripen, his life is
suffused with happiness."
~The Buddha...

"Worthy persons deserve to be called so because they are not carried away by the eight winds: prosperity, decline, disgrace, honor, praise, censure, suffering, and pleasure. They are neither elated by prosperity nor grieved by decline. The heavenly gods will surely protect one who is unbending before the eight winds."
~The Buddha
“He who can curb his wrath as soon as it arises, as a timely antidote will check snake’s venom that so quickly spreads, — such a monk gives up the here and the beyond, just as a serpent sheds its worn-out skin.”

"We can never obtain peace in the
outer world until we make peace with
ourselves."
~The Buddha

See your defilements, know them like you know a cobra's poison. You won't grab the cobra because you know it can kill you. See the harm in things harmful and use in things useful.
~ Ajahn Chah ~

Be not attached to the beloved And never with the unbeloved. Not to meet the beloved is painful As also to meet with the unbeloved. Therefore hold nothing dear,For separation from the beloved is painful.
There are no bonds for those To whom nothing is dear or not dear. From love springs grief,From love spring fear; For him who is free from love There is neither grief nor fear.

Just as we need good physical
health we also need strength of
mind to ensure our well-being;
and we develop it by cultivating
ethics.

Dear monks..
be mindful of what consists of our body…
Those are.. hair, nails, teeth, skin, flesh, liver, blood vessels, bones, cartilages, gall bladder, kidneys, heart, lungs, intestines, stomach, stools, urine, blood, sweat, saliva, brain, mucus, tears, and fat..
Being mindful of these, help u to understand the true nature of our body, and that helps to dissolve the myth of ego…
(Part of Vidharshana Meditation)
(There's no need for all the parts in the body to break down to die. Any part that gives us big problem can sometimes lead to death.)

Enlightening story!
Buddhist Psychology
One day, a famous woman lecturer on Buddhist metaphysics came to see Ajahn Chah. This woman gave periodic teachings in Bangkok on the abhidharma and complex Buddhist psychology. In talking to Ajahn Chah, she detailed how important it was for people to understand Buddhist psychology and how much her students benefited from their study with her. She asked him whether he agreed with the importance of such understanding.
"Yes, very important", he agreed.
Delighted, she further questioned whether he had his own students learn abhidharma.
"Oh, yes, of course."
And where, she asked, did he recommend they start, which books and studies were best?
"Only here," he said and pointing to his heart, "only here."

Ajahn Chah:
When the body is born it doesn't belong to anyone. It's like our meditation hall. After it's built spiders come to stay in it. Lizards come to stay in it. All sorts of insects and crawling things come to stay in it. Snakes may come to live in it. Anything may come to live in it. It's not only our hall; it's everything's hall.
These bodies are the same. They aren't ours. People come to stay in and depend on them. Illness, pain and aging come to reside in them and we are merely residing along with them. When these bodies reach the end of pain and illness, and finally break up and die, that is not us dying. So don't hold on to any of this. Instead, you have to contemplate the matter and then your grasping will gradually be exhausted. When you see correctly, wrong understanding will stop.

Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue. – The Buddha

When you are always at war with yourself, everything seems like a battle and everyone becomes the enemy. Peace begins within... Love yourself and that love will expand...

One day a woman named Vimala(Prostitute) came to the enlightened Mugala thero, and tried to sway him by showing her body. Seeing this..
Mugalan Thero : Foolish woman are you trying to draw lines in the sky..?
Don’t you know this body is like a garbage bag which is having more than 8 out lets of filth..?
Vimala : Foolish people get swayed by this body like, buffalos eager to live in the mud. But it seems you are not like that. What made you to act like this..?
Mugalan Thero : I see the things as they are, not as the mind tells me so. I’m a practitioner of Dhamma(Buddhism)..
(It is said that Vimala met L.Buddha in her search of Dhamma, and got enlightened later)

Be vigilant of impermanence in our daily life.
