Brother Fuqua, how is your progress now?Originally posted by Fuqua:Just becuz i set my alarm at 4.30am to wake up and put in my 10km run before going to the office doesn't mean i'm crazy.Running is a passion, NOT an obsession.
See u at the Esplanade bridge, 5/12.
Yo bro. Tested my new shoes, looks good. Maybe need to try a different lacing system.Originally posted by kops21:Brother Fuqua, how is your progress now?
Kops21 have done two runs at 6:30am Esplanade to get use to the exact environment for our D-Day. Pretty good... I am ready to Go.
I hope can catch up with u on 5/12 but i doubt so as yr starting time is different....but the time u finished, i should be at home drinking my Orange Juice....
Bro, wear the same shoe/sock/clothes that you are doing on your normal training day for the actual day. U need to get use to it. Also try to get a taste of Gel(available at GNC & Watson) before the actual day. This is a useful energy booster that is given out at 30km mark. U will need whatever energy there is.Originally posted by Fuqua:Yo bro. Tested my new shoes, looks good. Maybe need to try a different lacing system.
I've decided on my 2 socks, and shorts but still not sure whether to wear my black UnderArmour vest or my Adidas one. I had a pretty good slow easy 15km run on Monday morning. My legs was actually starting to protest a little bit at 10km but then I saw this expat lady carrying a backpack running strong. She smile, I smile back. That seems to lift my spirit and I was able to finish my 15km strongly and confidently. I will be running 23km this Sunday.
42km? Will be dam hard and painful but I'm determined to exorcise my demons out there this Dec and leave them on the roads ....

Cool...Originally posted by sillyme:I clocked in 2hrs 27min last year. So I hope to improve on that timing
But haven't been training as much as I want to.
Too much carbo-loading?Originally posted by kops21:Cool...We should be running along side for most of the race then...
Based on my training timing, should complete around 2:20. Being my first half and next week(can't do much training), i can't really tell how well/bad i can do....
2 days back complete the 10km Mizuno run in 58mins+ which is bad compare to few weeks ago 10km 2nd-Link run in 49mins+.
Cannot understand what happens...![]()

i haven't done any routes more than 10kmthis year... die liao..
Originally posted by Fuqua:If u can stand pain better than the others, then u shud be ok during ur half-marathonGood luck but why u choose to run again this year anyway?
Don't know what happen actually...maybe last thursday did the 18km around 1:57, that is why sunday puncture leow...during the run is okay but hor so many uncle and ger overtake me damn paiseiOriginally posted by Fuqua:Too much carbo-loading?
My last 10km run was around 55min. But then i wasn't particularly trying to run it in a fast time, just going for slow run, as usual. Ur 49mins was quite good! YOU can do it again!!!.
I tried to run half-marathon distance recently, and under the hot sun to try and see how it feel. Bad mistake. It was hotttt and my energy drink ran out around km18 and i had to stop. Didn't want to get mysefl ill from dehydration. Was pretty embarassed to have to call someone to pick me up hehe .. but i live to fight another day.
Will wear sunblock and shade and bring MORE water for my next attempt ...
U going for the Marathon as well?Originally posted by littlebeaker:Many factors could have explained the difference in timing. But both timings are good lah..

Bro Fuqua, running on a hot day is fine, but not pushing to a limit at the same time. Worst still u have not do any hot day running before.
Well...good that u pull back. Let save our energy to fight on another day(5th Dec).
I didn't participate last year. How was the medical aid at the finish line? Did the organiser provide ice-pack, food, massage, etc ?Originally posted by sillyme:Last year finished with cramps. This year want to do finish it without
