I swear I shouted at the top of my voice when Itimi Dickson shot was superbly saved by the Japanese gk in the last minute of the match. I really thought it was going in. But ... haizz ... lose again ... but credit goes to the performance ... even though it's a second string Japanese side. But lose is still a lost. I'm sure the coach isn't happy with the result. But kudos to Singapore for putting up a brave fight rather than Vincent Subramaniam's Singapore side that lost to Japan 3-0 a few years back where they play with 2 sweeper and only so many defenders. Anyone remember that match? I think Rezal Hassan make so many saves, more than what Hassan Sunny or Lionel Lewis have to make during the 2 matches with Japan this year.
But yeah, I guess Singapore is improving bit by bit. But I still think it's a long way to go before Singapore can ever reach an Asian Cup Final. They may be able to match the ASEAN team. But it will take a few years, maybe the next batch of players from the Sports School and COE to ever achieve a respectable target. The current team is good and youthful, but not good enough to go up another level i suppose.
Sleague need to improve more. Though I support the Sleague, I wonder why the commentator say Sleague is a very good league. They are just average like any Malaysian sides. Clueless man.

Sleague really need to invest more on youth. Youth is the only solution I can think of to improve our local standard. For that, everyone needs to be patient. We need to train children from as young as 7 or 8yrs old, not at 15 years old. By then it's already too late.
The above is just my thoughts.
