Any possible routes to recommend?
Macritchie distance range from 3km to 30km, depending on which route you take.Originally posted by Rockhound:macritchie?....around the bloody reservoir?...the whole 11km of it?....lol
i heard of the turf city one....wonder if it is good....
dunnoz...i just started after the 'not straight' bridge...all the way to the golf course...took a right....ran along the golf course....reached the jelutong towers...then to the 2nd ranger station....proceded out of there past the PUB thingy that look like hangars out of a gundam episode and went back in to finish the last 4-5km back to the reservoir...basically the map says around the reservoir...and roughly abt 11km...dunno abt 30km..cos the map onli showed 11km as the longest route...but weirdly...some 1km sections felt like they were 2 or even 3km...Originally posted by kops21:Macritchie distance range from 3km to 30km, depending on which route you take.![]()
Macritchie Reservior on the map say 11km max. unofficially i am informed, if you join to Lower Pierce and back -1 loop, you can go up to 15km. If you jog to Bukit Timah 1 loop, it will be 30km.Originally posted by Rockhound:dunnoz...i just started after the 'not straight' bridge...all the way to the golf course...took a right....ran along the golf course....reached the jelutong towers...then to the 2nd ranger station....proceded out of there past the PUB thingy that look like hangars out of a gundam episode and went back in to finish the last 4-5km back to the reservoir...basically the map says around the reservoir...and roughly abt 11km...dunno abt 30km..cos the map onli showed 11km as the longest route...but weirdly...some 1km sections felt like they were 2 or even 3km...

You need someone to bring you along the trial once to know the route.![]()

there are cross country running shoes in the marketOriginally posted by Devache:Hmm, I don't do trail running, but trail hiking rather.
I usually start off at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, take the biker's trail and then proceed to do the route which goes by Jelutong Tower & Tree Top Walk before exiting at SICC and taking a detour Macritchie.
It's about 15-16km a good route and there's even some spots where you can actually trek out into the reservoir and enjoy the serenity of the area.
Running for 15 plus km, that must be really tough on the knees, what type of running shoes are you using?
I don't think normal shoes would be good enough for such an intensive activity.
it can get quite muddy on rainy dayzOriginally posted by Rockhound:I am a man reborn....been trail running for the past 2 days at macritchie....and i LOVE IT!!more fun than running on the track or road...anyone love trail running too?
