Is the EPL overrated?

Hell yeah!
Who agrees with me?
I think it is because it is overhyped in the local media.Everything EPL this EPL that.I realised that the Saturday edition of the EPL don't even have a single page on the top league in the world,Serie A. -
thats cos its popular,
Serie A is 2nd to EPL in singapore -
cable tv is overpriced

they have the best commentary..and the grass view do looks nicer i guess..

If they had english commentators for La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A or even the dutch superleague, i think people would watch.
Language barrier and purchasing power are stumbling blocks.
Hell our SCV don't even feature regional waterpolo matches featuring our national side. They cater to a golfing and soccer community that grows exponentially. -

seriously the commentary in la liga and serie a makes me wana switch off the tv..

EPL seem to look very exciting and the crowd seen from TV. They are amazing.

Coz tats where most Spore ppl interest are!! It cant cater to everywan, but only to the majority, if all league like Seria A, Bundesliga, Spanish League all show!! Then kan they cover the revenue back??

Reasons for other leagues being second favourites among majority of the Singaporeans:
- Not clear enough transmission
- Boring commentators
- Late night games
- Crowds from some other leagues arent as vocal as the english supporters. Sometime its the singing and chanting from the english fans that makes the game more exciting than it really is.
- Too many EPL matches being broadcast
- Player names and club names easier to pronouce
- Lack of exposure to other leagues right from the start
- Peer influences, your friends all like EPL teams, you like other teams not much to talk about.
But to sum it all up, EPL being the most popular league doesnt mean they are the best league in terms of quality. I felt people should broaden their football horizon.

EPL has very few technicians and Trequartistas,mostly battlers and head tennis players...That's what I hate most about this league.

but technically they are poor. italian and spanish league are more technical.
EPL emphasize too much on crosses, mostly attack from flanks. -

These are who I think are ball players of English nationality in the EPL-Rooney,J.Cole...Let me think of more...seriously I can't think of any? Anyone to help me out?
Don't mention people like Henry and Pires of course,we all know they are true blue technicians.

If they are under pressure from 1 or 2 players and they still can keep the ball or control it sueprbly, then thats great ball control.
If no one pressure them, then they can control superbly, then that is what is expected from you as a good soocer player.
Good soccer players or world class players does not mean he has great ball control.
Technique is an ability to do some good, I think lampard's ability to do something good is his long range passing and long shots. TYPICAL of british midfielders.
So far I felt Wayne Rooney is currently the best controller of the ball in the England squad. Dont tell me Frank Lampard or Steven Gerard.
Want to watch what is call superb ball control, watch the brazilians. CAn dribble also does not mean good ball control.

it is just not the english's style of playing to dribble the ball like the brazilians... that's what makes english, english and brazilian brazilian in football sense. anyway the english play decent exciting football and epl has the highest viewers rating compared to other leagues in singapore, so naturally everyone is concentrating on epl mah..

ya n sumtimes wen player take free kicks or throw ins you can see middle fingers behind them...especially wen they are throwin or kickin from the opposition side of the crowd...can see children oso doing it...
