Released Manchester United captain Roy Keane is sifting through FORTY club offers.
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie, whose club are interested in offering Keane a player-manager's role, revealed the phenomenal level of interest in the Irish midfielder.
Pompey are one of around 40 clubs to have contacted Keane's lawyer and agent Michael Kennedy.
Celtic are favourites for his signature while other Premiership clubs in the hunt include Manchester City, Bolton, Wigan and West Brom.
Storrie said: "If we could bring Roy Keane to Pompey it would be fantastic, but in what role I don't know.
"However, we are in a queue of about 40 clubs who have registered an interest with his lawyer.
"We would like to talk to him if he wants to talk to us. I am unsure whether Roy Keane wants to stay as a player or get into coaching.
"With someone like Roy, it would be important to have someone with experience alongside him."
