Dearth of Good English Manager to Manage England

  Remember Graham Taylor ill fated reign as england manager from 1991-1994, and then Kevin Keegan from 1998-2000?
  
  Under Taylor, england played hopeful long balls, which was awful to watch.
  Under Keegan, he is hopelessly tactically naive and he quitted after england lost to germany in a world cup qualifying match at wembley.
  
  Terry Venables and Sir Bobby Robson are proven managers and have a lot of experiences, but I dun think the FA will appoint them cos of their age and reputation.
  
  The current potential english managers to take over from Erikkson are Steve Mclaren, Sam Allardyce and that Charlton manager. They have not won the big ticket trophy in epl (epl title, fa cup or euro /uefa cup) and neither have the experience of managing an international team.
  
  I shudder to think if Big Sam took over england, playing the long ball, throw-ins and free-kick, isnt it a step back to the era of Graham Taylor in the early 90's?
  
  I prefer the FA appoint someone who is proven as a manager not only in their domestic league, but also an international team, manager like Guus Hiddink, who managed PSV and also holland, South Korea and Australia.

  He is not a bad choice, but I dun think FA would appoint him anyway cos he is german lol.

  Peter Withe? omg, its a non starter for a start. Terry Venables not bad as he got the experience of managing tops teams and internation teams like england and Australia b4.

  hiddink looks most promising but considering the british papers, he may not want it... the next england manager must be able to cope with on and off field matters... steve maclaren looks gd for it

  BOLTON manager Sam Allardyce will be given the green light by the club chairman to accept the England manager's job if it is offered to him.
  
  Allardyce is one of the front-runners to replace Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson, and has said he would love the job.
  
  And despite hoping to hold on to his coveted manager, Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has affirmed it would be an honour if the England offer came Allardyce's way.
  
  Gartside said: 'I am flattered Sam's name has been linked with the England coaching vacancy.
  
  'Should the call come from the FA, it would be a very proud moment for Sam Allardyce, Bolton Wanderers and me personally. Until such time, Sam is 100 per cent committed to his important role at Bolton.'
  
  Bolton are currently seventh in the Premiership. - PA Sport.
