Ruud van Nistelrooy fears could be forced to leave Manchester United in the summer.
There will be no bigger indication that is the case than if the Dutch striker is left out of tonight's Manchester United side to face Wigan.
Van Nistelrooy is fit to play at the JJB Stadium having pulled out of Holland's midweek friendly against Ecuador with a stomach complaint.
But he remains unhappy with his Carling Cup final snub eight days ago, when he was left on the bench.
United manager Alex Ferguson is seriously considering keeping in- form Louis Saha up front with Wayne Rooney.
Van Nistelrooy will be 30 in July and this is the last summer he can realistically command a big transfer fee.
Ferguson is aware of that and will not be scared of selling after dumping David Beckham and Roy Keane.
Fergie said: "I'm happy with our progress but it is important we don't set our standards too low." -

AC Milan are pressing Manchester United for Ruud van Nistelrooy's availability.
The Sunday Mirror says reps from the Italian club have wasted no time in contacting Old Trafford to discover whether the Dutch striker will be made available at the end of the season following his shock omission from last week's Carling Cup Final.
The Dutchman has two years left on his current United contract and the Reds would want to recoup at least £10m.
Milan hope to use Johann Vogel - the Switzerland midfielder Ferguson wanted to take on loan during the transfer window - as a makeweight in any move, although the initial response was that United would prefer a cash-only deal. -

Ruud van Nistelrooy believes it's time to leave Manchester United.
The Sun says the Dutch hitman's brother Ron broke the news to a supporter in a pub before Sunday's 2-0 home win over Newcastle.
The fan said: "When I asked 'Is he off?' Ron looked at me and said 'It looks like he no longer has a future at Old Trafford, sadly'. In the past he has always played down any suggestion that Ruud was going. But this time it was different."
Ron is well known among staunch United fans, who he prefers to mix with rather than take advantage of VIP hospitality.
Van Nistelrooy has accepted his fate as he and United boss Alex Ferguson are hardly on speaking terms.
Seems like RVN is leaving Man Utd..........instead of buying a great player they are selling one ! -

Ruud van Nistelrooy told manager Sir Alex Ferguson 12 months ago that he wanted to leave Manchester United, it has been revealed.
The Times says Van Nistelrooy informed Ferguson a year ago that he wished to leave Old Trafford and, although he was talked round by the United manager on that occasion, the 29-year-old is described as being in a fragile state as he ponders the significance of his fall from favour over the past few weeks.
Sources close to Ferguson maintain that he wants Van Nistelrooy to spend the rest of his career at United, but also that the forward is under pressure to accept that he will not be an automatic first choice alongside Wayne Rooney in attack -
He shall leave ManU, coz United no longer has the players feed him with crosses or that final pass for him to score. Ronaldo is more of a showman, crosses are usually too late. rooney dribbles n like the short 1 2 pass, dun think that is RVN style. Beckham gone, RVN stop scoring. So its his time now.

I disagree with you totally except that ronaldo keep show-boating........RVN is the top scorer despite being on bench..........and he scored alot this season already so beckham gone did not affect his goals counts.......check your facts please

19 goals in EPL this season. U may say it is alot. but compare to how many goals he score when beckham still around u will see that the 19 goals is not good enough. What RVN need is a team that provide him with chances but i really dun see him getting the service from the midfield. agree...RVN is lyk a semi-god when backs is still at man u...he has alot more potentil to score more but de current system doesn allow him to do that...Unless man u make a ultra controversial move for becks when fergie is gone or sth...which is still a few yrs time and too unrealistic, de nex best fink is for dem to get a gd crosser frm de flanks...Originally posted by tarcki:19 goals in EPL this season. Ya, agree with u! but i dun think fergie will buy players to suit RVN style, 30yrs old soon, no use trying to built the team around him. defoe's not a bad choice if RVN really leaves.Though defoe's style is more o less of rooney..both r short but have physical strength to shrug off defenders n left them chasing...oftens dribbles,have flair,creates n oso scores spectacular goals...

I believe MUFC has a list of players but you know one rat (Peter Kenyon) who will sit and wait and once MUFC go for their targets, he will come with 10m more. So now, stealth is the name of the game.
I don't MUFC will go for one established player like Ballack, cause they simply can't afford them. so they will go for someone like Nolan, young and rising.
I prefer young, stronger lads in MF, not someone like kleberson, once in EPL, kept injured. Someone with a physical presence. -
i think the ideal replacement for giggs is mark gonzalez for the left flank, central midfield daniel wolf, right flank, freddy guarin

The main problem in Man U now is of course the Central Midfield. They need a Attacking Midfielder And a Defensive midfielder. Scholes is getting too old and Keano is gone. Smith is not the Answer, Fletcher is nt the Answer.
Defensively, they are alright now. With 2 new signings of Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic, and also the return of Gabriel Heinze next season, their Defence looks quite sound.
At the MOMENT, Man U Do not need any more strikers. They already have the scariest attack(if not the top two scariest attack in EPL ). Louis Saha, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Van Nistelrooy. But giggs is ageing and Van nistelrooy may be leaving. So they may need some reinforcements.
Im thinking of Morten Gamst Pedersen to replace Giggs..but im nt sure if he suits Man U's Style.. but he certainly has the ability to make an impact.
However for RVN, i really have no idea who can take his place. Saha? What is he's injured? who will play as the All out Center Forward?
However as, irreplaceable as RVN is, I have a crazy idea. I know this is mad.. and it might never happen but how about trading Van Nistelrooy to Liverpool in Return for Sissoko? Good deal right? But to bad it has a one in hundred chance of happening.
Other candidates for the Holding Midfield Role would be Diarra from Lyon, PapaBouba Diop from Fulham , Scott Parker from Newcastle and Michael Carrick from Tottenham.
For Attacking midfielder, they need someone who can pass, shoot and preferably, tackle. For this.. i really have no idea who can fit the role.
Move Rooney back to Offensive Midfield? and play 2 strikers up front? -

chelsea got two great players in Essien, and Makelele.
liverpool got two too, gerrard and xavi.
even arsenal got their great spanish delight.
However, I am irked at the way they slam vieira. They kicked him out and now back-stabbed him. Really dirty.
and mufc got OShea. pretty light weight.
so we need to add some muscle.
and with arsenal going for 6ft 10" striker, and Liverpool got their 6ft 6" strikers, perhaps it will be a close fight for MUFC and Chelsea to see who can persuade Yao Ming to join EPL to mark these players...
