Jewell: Wigan example to all small clubs

Wigan Athletic's success this season can be an inspiration to all lower division clubs and players, says manager Paul Jewell.
"I believe the Wigan story gives everybody hope," Jewell told the Guardian. "It gives hope to every so-called lower club, to every so-called lower player - Jimmy Bullard cost us £275,000 from Peterborough three years ago. We took a chance. Together we have made it work and he's now being talked about as a possible international.
"But overall this season, personally I've enjoyed our freshness, our lack of fear. I hope that can happen in Cardiff as well. There's a lot goes into every game, Wigan aren't just a bunch of scallies."
Small clubs does not means cannot be success look @ wigan and west ham and osasuna ! -
I admire small clubs that do well. It shows that their players work really hard, with their efforts rewarded. You can always see pure happiness when they win. -

well i believe every season there will be a small club performing above expectations.....this season is wigan ,wehasd everton and ipswich previously....
juz a caution....i believe the coming season for wigan will be crucial...n will determine if they really has established themselves as tre premiership team.
Just look at ipswich previously,they qualified for champs league,get knocked out and get relegated after their wonder season.
Everton's not been palying too well this season too.thank god they've out of the slump and r climbing up to mid table -

Just like Ipwich Town's fantasy run in the immediate season after promotion, George Burley lead the team to a UEFA spot, surprising many of the european slot contenders and picking up the manager of the year award.
The next season, they plunged back down to div 1. A one-season wonder.
If Wigan can sustain their run next season, then there is cause to celebrate their newfound status, especially since many so-called 'stars' snubbed Wigan during pre-season signing. -
i agree with billybong.
many teams did better than expected in their 1st season only to be relegated the next. -
wigan arent really a small club now.
their owner is a very rich man too.
