Gary Neville Captaincy

Felt that Gary Neville's captaincy at Man Utd is quite ordinary and he is not as vocal and talented as past captains, like keane and bryan robson.
Rooney as future captain? He seems to have a fiery character like keane, not to mention talent. -

Even though I feel that he should learn 2 have more self-control and be abit more aggrasive to show that he is no push over and that so far he is quite ok... Heard that Rooney is going to take over the captaincy once he has the ability to do so.... I hope that whoever is the captain do a good job of maintaining the clubs high standards and ambitions....

but ferdinand is seen as mercenary to most fans.
best bet is still Rooney in a few years time to take over when gary retire.
Roy Keane also hot headed at that time, why then did fergie appoint keane instead of someone else like bruce or pallister? -

rooney is too young and hot-head. dun think he should fit in. no doubt he contributed assisting goals to rvn, but he set very bad influence considering the facts he beat up his pregnant gf...
i think ryan giggs fit the role consider his longest stay in man u. -

Gary Neville lacks the charisma and influence to bolster his team. He;s too quiet; it's true. He just does his part in defense. Quiet team player after that.
Compare him to Frank Lampard or Steven G. They have the character to inspire. That;s what's lacking in Neville. Its like oliver kahn and jens lehmann. Obviously Kahn gives the team stability cause' he can influence, even from deep defense. Lehmann can't. A team can;t go into competition and score without confidence that their defense is strong. That;s why arsenal are losing. It;s not lehmann;s fault. They;re just weak at the back. -

a captain need not necessary be starting line-up, but rather a person who influence his team mates to perform. sometime a captain at the bench can see the flow of the match plus giving guidence as well.
