I strongly believe that being captain of a big team do give them an escape clause when they should have been red-carded.
for eons, I have been saying SG should be red-carded for his rash tackles, same as John Terry for his "unintentional" hand-balls.
well, SG was red-carded, but pool won. well done.
Do you think captains can get away from "Murder"?? -
it is common practice for referees to give more leeways to captains.

i guess it caught up with him

he did escaped a few times before and I remember ronaldinho slide right in the back of the player and it was a straight red but the ref gave him a yellow or no card instead
